Capitol Technology University is the only independent university in Maryland dedicated to engineering, computer science, information technology and business. Founded in 1927, Capitol Technology University is a regionally accredited institution offering associate, bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees, as well as professional development training and certificates. The university's 52-acre campus is located in Laurel, Maryland, a suburban setting midway between Washington, DC and Baltimore. Full-time undergraduate students are eligible for a five-year tuition lock and a job guarantee. Capitol Technology University is located at the center of the nation's fourth largest metropolitan area, Baltimore-Washington. The campus lies just off the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (I-295) eight miles northeast of Washington, DC, and 17 miles south of Baltimore. Parking at the campus is free and plentiful.
Driving Directions
From Washington, DC, and points south of Laurel, Maryland:
Take the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (Exit 22 North off Interstate 95) to the Beltsville/Powder Mill Road exit. Turn left onto Powder Mill Road, cross under the Baltimore-Washington Parkway and take the first right onto Springfield Road. Follow Springfield Road for one mile. Capitol Technology University is on the right.
From Baltimore and north of Laurel, Maryland:
Take the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (Exit 7 South off Interstate 695) to the Beltsville/Powder Mill Road exit. Turn right onto Powder Mill Road, then take the first right onto Springfield Road. Follow Springfield Road for one mile. Capitol Technology University is on the right.

Capitol Technology University is a 20-minute drive from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), and a 30- to 40-minute drive from Reagan National Airport.
Capitol is a 15-minute drive from the Greenbelt, Maryland, rail station, which connects with the Washington Metro, Amtrak and Maryland Area Regional Commuter (MARC) subway and train lines.
